Workflow of Injection Mold Making

Creating an injection mold involves a structured process to ensure precision and reliability. Here’s how it typically works

1. Product Analysis & Design Review

Our team at Idealpro starts by reviewing your product design (3D/2D drawings or samples). We check details like wall thickness, undercuts, and material needs to confirm if injection molding is suitable. If design tweaks would make manufacturing smoother, we’ll discuss adjustments with you.

2. Mold Design & Material Planning

Using tools like SolidWorks or UG, Idealpro’s engineers design the full mold structure—including parting lines, gating systems, cooling channels, and ejection mechanisms. We also select mold materials (e.g., S136, 718H) based on your product’s needs and source them promptly.

3. Precision Component Machining

All mold parts are machined at Idealpro with strict precision: Rough shaping to remove excess material. Heat treatment to harden steel. Fine machining (via CNC, EDM, grinding) for exact dimensions and surface quality. Final polishing for smooth finishes.

4. Mold Assembly

Our technicians assemble all machined parts into a complete mold. We ensure tight fits: guide pins slide smoothly, ejection systems work without jamming, and mold halves seal properly to prevent excess plastic (flash).

5.Trial Runs & Refinement

The mold is tested on our injection machines: Initial trials (T1, T2) to check for defects like incomplete filling or warping. Adjustments to the mold or processing settings and small-batch tests until parts match your standards.

6. Mass Production & Delivery

Once the mold passes all tests, Idealpro proceeds to large-scale production. We provide you with inspection reports and maintenance guidelines to support long-term use of the mold.

We guarantee the mold life based on the steel grade you choose.

1、Class 101 (Hardened Steel): Guaranteed for 1,000,000+ shots.
2、Standard (P20/718): Guaranteed for 300,000 – 500,000 shots.
3、If the mold stays at Idealpro for production, we offer free lifetime maintenance.

What happens if the T1 samples don't meet my specifications?

If the dimensions do not match your drawings due to our error, we will modify the mold for free until it is correct. If the issue stems from your design change, we only charge the modification cost—no profit added.

CAN YOU DO ASSEMBLY AND CUSTOMIZED PACKAGE?

Yes, we have assmebly line, so you can finish the production line of your product as the last step in our factory.

DO YOU PROVIDE FREE SAMPLE?

Yes we offer free sample but do not afford the shipping cost.

WHO OWNS THE MOLD IF I PAY FOR MOLD FEE?

You paid the mould so it all belong to you forever, and we will give lifelong maintenance. If necessary, you can take this mould back.

HOW CAN YOU KEEP YOUR PROMISE ABOUT QUALITY?

We have an independent quality department to check every step by IQC, IPQC, OQC.If there are any defective items we willl take corrective action to ensure the elimination of the root cause of defects. When you get the goods and find there is a defect after check. We promise to accept your asked return at our cost or provide replacement free.

WHEN WILL YOU SHIP THE DIE CASTING UNITS OR THE T1SAMPLE?

Normall,it takes 20-60 business days for the mold, then we will send you T1 sample for approval. And 15-30 business days for mass production.

HOW TO SHIP?

The free sample or small order is usually sent by TNT,FEDEX,UPS,etc,and the big order is sent by air or sea after clients confirm.
